SODEPA’s top management performance vision requires better accounting regulations. Under the direction of the General Manager of SODEPA and with the support of FICTRIX Consulting, a training workshop for the company’s senior staff on accounting change and the SODEPA Accounting Plan (DCIF and SYSCOHADA) was organised from 8 to 13 February 2021 at the Benedictine Monastery in Yaounde

It should be recalled that this training is based on the following texts: Decree No. 2019/262 of May 2019 amending and supplementing certain provisions of Decree No.2004/073 of April 5, 2004 on the application of the OHADA System (SYSCOHADA) and Statistical and Fiscal Declaration (DSF). « The aim is to align the accounting and financial processes with the principles of preparing and producing accounts based on programmes in application of the Medium-Term Budgetary Framework (MTBF) » said the General Manager in his opening speech delivered late morning on 8 February. He pointed out that the objectives of each participant (accounting officer, authorising officer and auditor) are:

-To master the basics of the new environment of Accounting Law and Financial Information including the OHADA Accounting System

-Learn about SODEPA’s new accounting plan and the correlation table recently adopted by the Board of Directors

-Outline the main accounting components for a scheduled system switch.

Accounting objectives as a new approach in the preparation of financial and accounting information, a reminder of the fundamental accounting principles and finally the new approach to the accounting and control of SODEPA’s operating accounts were some of the modules presented by the training firm.  This training session was attended by senior staff members of the Head Office and those of radiating units. The presentation of end-of-training attestations to participants and closing remarks by the General Manager, Mr. KOULAGNA KOUTOU Denis, marked the end of these thought-filled discussions.
