Since 30 September 2023, the Livestock Development Corporation (SODEPA) has been organising regular sales of meat at affordable prices and right weight in the city of Yaounde. These sales take place every weekend at the Cité Verte, Parcours Vita and Nkolbisson areas, at the SODEPA head office (Nouvelle route Omnisports) as well as other MINCOMMERCE sales points (Mairie d’Ekounou, Carrefour MEEC-Etetak).
This action is in line with the vision of Cameroon’s Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya, to support the housewife’s basket at a time of inflation in basic foodstuffs. The meat displayed and sold at these sites comes from SODEPA ranches. Refrigerated vans ensure the transport and logistics of the meat products in good hygienic conditions.
Joint teams from the Head Office and the operational units in the city of Yaounde are in charge of distribution, marketing and customer feedback.
The objective of the Livestock Development Corporation is to be self-sufficient in animal proteins by 2035.

– Meat without bones : CFAF 2,400 per kilo
– Meat with bones : CFAF 2,800 per kilo
Future prospects
SODEPA plans to extend this type of local sales operation to other regions of the country.
