The signing of a partnership agreement between the Livestock Development Corporation (SODEPA) and the Chamber of Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock and Forest of Cameroon (CAPEF) at the latter’s headquarters on February 8, 2023 marks the start of a new era of collaboration between the two organizations.

SODEPA and CAPEF have joined forces to popularize agro-pastoral techniques, support the training of rural economic players in innovative animal production techniques (artificial insemination, embryo transfer) and facilitate the professional integration of young people in the agro-pastoral sector.

It was against this backdrop that the President of the aforementioned Chamber (CAPEF), Mr Martin Paul MINDJOS MOMENY, said: « what we needed was much more than a framework agreement that would govern the specific agreements already signed with the BINGUELA Practical School of Agriculture… », After the discursive phase of the two managers, an overview of the framework agreement and a brief presentation of SODEPA and its activities, the exchange of initials made the day.

Family photos of the staff present from the various stakeholders brightened up the day, and was preceded by consecutive interviews with the host of the day and his counterpart, the General Manager of SODEPA,Denis KOULAGNA KOUTOU; “We’re going to work on cattle fattening related problems, genetic improvement, animal crossbreeding, problems related to the sale of meat and, above all, meat security stocks, » he told the press”.

This new partnership is in line with SODEPA’s vision of contributing effectively to ensure food self-sufficiency for the people of Cameroon.
